For all of you fans out there wanting to have the missing songs for this great soundtrack, it's very slowly happening. Thanks to Phaota, we originally got a copy of Jocko Marcellino's song when I posted the soundtrack awhile back. Now he has done it again with the needed Thom Pace tune "I'll Take The Blame". Concerning the track, Thom re-recorded it in 1999 to sound just the one heard in the film and released it, along with a lot of other unreleased and demo tracks on his two CD set available through his eBay page. Phaota has put both extra songs in their play order spots. Originally, the officially released soundtrack was available on Poptate's blog, and I didn't want to take away his thunder by posting here. But being that this is an extended edition in play order, it is different than any other share available, thanks to the good man Phaota! There's plenty of other tracks in the movie missing though, and unfortunately, they're harder than a banshee to find! Phaota and I have been looking everywhere for them, without success. If we find any, I'll update the post, but don't count on it since they are PRETTY FUCKING HARD TO FIND!!! Don't worry, I'll add as a separate download so that you don't have to get the whole soundtrack again people. :) The movie screams out for a full blown SE on DVD and Blu-ray, especially an audio commentary with the girls would be sweet! Imagine that for a second readers. We can dream can't we? Enjoy the music!

Problem is, I'm still missing two really hard-to-find songs for that soundtrack, otherwise it would be complete. :) Sorry, Michael, that's one isn't available. Put some money into it.
Concerning the Jocko Marcellino track, for those interested, I got it directly from the artist after I e-mailed him about his contributions to the soundtrack. Unfortunately, he only had that one archived.
hey phaota!

Hi I have the "official" sound track version of the 1984 movie "Night Of The Comet' and you have all the songs on it.BTW 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' a big, big part of the movie (department store dance scene) is NOT on it.
IDBM credits the song to Tami Holbrook but i can find no evidence of this. In fact I can find no evidence of Tami Holbrook-no bio, no discography-Except that she is credited as a backup singer to Deborah Galli on the dreadful 1985 movie title song of 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun'.
I recorded 40 seconds of the song from the department store scene and compared it to Cyndi Lauper's version. Either it is a very clever imitation or it is identical.I conclude that Cyndi Lauper's song is the movie version unless proven otherwise. Tom M
hey anonymous
phaota wanted to pass this reply to you pal.
Since Cyndi Lauper did not want her song used in the film of the same title "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", it is quite evident the same situation arose with this low-budget classic. So, Tami Holbrook was brought in to do a cover of the song. They sound similar, but both Cyndi and Tami's voices are different, as well as some instrumental additions in Cyndi's version make it stand out from Tami's rendition. If you do not believe me, I have extended the soundtrack yet again by adding in an excerpt of Tami's song (up to when the girls start talking, then I gently fade it out) and putting in Cyndi's version as a bonus. You can DL copy at my link here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V8P67TTM. ; If you have the NotC DVD, like I do, then you will find Tami is credited for the song in the ending credits.
Though there isn't a ton of information about Tami Holbrook, if you did any searching, you will find some interesting info. Like she did Tommy Pickles voice in the pilot for the "Rugrats" animated series. Then Elizabeth Daily took over for the series itself. Tami also acted in the film "Hot Moves" as the character Sissy. She also did various character voices in the "Might Mouse, the New Adventures" (1988) animated series. And, of course, sang with several other girls another version of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" in the movie of the same name. Additionally, she did a song on the "Mata Mata Abunai Deka" (1988) soundtrack called "My Love and My Lover", which I have. IMDb doesn't list anything past 88, so she clearly gave up acting and singing to probably be a mother.
Show me the the ID# of the 45 or LP or CD and I will believe you that Tami Holbrook sang the song. Tom M
PS Megaupload link is dead.
hey tom
i'll pass your comment over to phaota and let you know what he says cause he knows more about this movie's music than i do. but i'm pretty sure phaota's right. anyway i will report back here soon. also thanks for letting me know about the MU link being dead.
take care.
ey Anonymous, if you are a fan of the movie, then how come you do not have the DVD? If you did, then all you need to do is look at the credits where it says Tami Holbrook sang "Girls Just Want To Have Fun". Here is the extended soundtrack download link again: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7WV72DGC . I'm not going to keep it up forever, so it's best to get it now. I will be killing the link in a few days.
