Fright Night (1985) - 25th Anniversary Edition - The Complete Soundtrack - Brad Fiedel and VA (Multi Disc Set!) Thanks To All Who Contributed!

Alternate Artwork:

(Click On Above Pictures To Get A Closer Look At Them.)

Charley Brewster is a normal teenager whose mother thinks he watches too many late night horror films, Charley’s life is pretty uneventful - until he becomes convinced that his suave and sinister neighbour Jerry Dandridge is a vampire.

No one, least of all the police, will believe that Dandridge is the vicious killer responsible for a spate of bizarre murders. Charley finds an ally in Peter Vincent, a former horror film star and host of TV’s ‘Fright Night Theatre’, in his quest to nail the debonair bloodsucker.

But then the nightmare really begins...

If you love being scared, it’ll be the night of your life.

I've seen many Fright Night albums around: songs only. The expanded and 'complete' which was basically the same thing but different name.

Well dear readers, this is something else. The following album contains Brad Fiedel's full score with 10 brand new tracks that have never seen the light of day. Each have been carefully cleaned to the best of my ability, many updates have been made including tracks from the recent official release have been integrated so quality does vary in parts.

All songs are represented with a special extra alternate track on disc 2.

If that wasn't enough, making this the best and most unique Fright Night audio experience is the bonus material: certain tracks from the new official release are presented in their uncut forms. I put these here because they were edited in such a way that makes them too cool to be not included and not all of them were edited into my improved film score version.

We all remember the club scenes and the songs played therein. I came across another album on ffshrine by member megamattterra. I listened and it was rough round the edges and it prompted me to do a newer version of the club mix to as close to the movie as the tracks allowed. This could not have been possible if not for megamattterra, it probably would have been forgotten without his influence so my thanks to him.

I've added a special interview with Chris Sarandon from 2008 to finish disc 3.

We are not finished. We have an awesome bonus exclusive right here. As the original DVD release was unfortunately light on extras and I've found out that it will be released on Limited Edition Blu Ray in December, no extras released at this time .... how about this: 2 DVD commentaries recorded a while back, moderated by Ain't It Cool News.com. Director Tom Holland pulling double duty, first joined by stars Chris Sarandon & Jonathan Stark and secondly with stars William Ragsdale, Stephen Geoffreys & FX Artist Randall William Cook.

This is one of the biggest projects I've ever put together and it couldn't have been possible if it wasn't for The Long Island Ripper, (Mr) Ghostface, our artwork genius and megamattterra from ffshrine ... peace, love and respect to you all.

Enjoy my friends,

Blondie

I've had those audio commentaries available for quite awhile on my commentary thread over on tehparadox.com. They were originally shared on iconsofhorror.com. The first one, for the bad guys, is moderated/hosted by Tim Sullivan. The second on is moderator by Jeremy Smith of (Mr. Beaks of "Ain't It Cool News") and hosted by Tim Sullivan.

Guys, I can't express enough appreciation to you all for putting this soundtrack together. I've been listening to FNight since it was released on good ol' vinyl back in the mid 80's! (Still have the original record). Then when another company released the Fiedel score a couple years ago (Hollywood Monsters or something like that), I thought that was the end all. Then this comes along and makes for a truly Happy Halloween! :D So far it sounds very, very wonderful (love Jerry's whistle in "Night Visit") and can't wait to hear the rest. Also, thanks for the tip on the Blu-ray coming out. Keep up the GREAT work and also kudos for the CD art covers....sweeeeet!

This is a great compilation since my original release was missing the 10 extra score tracks. Not sure how you got them, with the exception "The Charmer", which is clearly a DVD audio rip since it still has the hand kiss sound effect. Gladly, with these, I was able to make my definitive version with all of the score and vocal tracks in play order. But, there are some hiss issues with most of the new tracks. Easily cleaned away, but they should have been done so before blog release. Also, not a fan of some of song title changes. Best to have kept the originals like they were. Lastly, the song "The Test" has a serious slowdown issue starting a 1:10. The sound is way to slow compared to the movie's music, especially the ending bum-bum. Just sounds wrong like that.

Very well done L I R ! Hope to see something along the lines of this again in the future. Perhaps a treatment of The Neverending Story perhaps. Would love to hear interviews with actors from that show if any were ever done. Also 12 inch remixes etc. and cue music.

Why can't I open any of these? Are the links dead?

hey phaota,

i'd be interested in checking out your edition sometime soon. but i wanna hold off on putting upgrades up for a while and concentrate more on stuff that hasn't been posted before for now. i'd also like to ask blonde if it's ok with him to post yours. hope that's ok. blonde worked hard on this release as well as Ghostface. hope you understand.

take care.

Hey Phaota.
All the new pieces were extracted from the region 2 DVD release.
There is no slow down on 'The Test' since it runs at exactly as heard on DVD, I didn't speed up nor slow down any of the new pieces.
I did everything I could to make them as clean and clear as I could, the hissy sounds couldn't be helped, my talents unfortunately don't stretch that far.
As you know, no two extractions are the same, they have their little problems and I had a few here: too quiet, too much SFX (the hand kiss effect, one of a few I couldn't eliminate) and for example 'Night Visit', which was the most difficult, had to be put together in sections.
You want to want to put your expertise to this, every little helps, be my guest and feel free to change any track name too
